More About Dr Robert Solomon

Dr Solomon grew up in a Christian family and attended church since young. At the age of 16, he committed his life to Christ, who led him to study medicine. While in medical school at the University of Singapore, the Lord indicated that he is to later serve Him in fulltime Christian service. More information is found here. After a few years of work as a medical doctor, Dr Solomon and his wife Malar went to Manila where he got his M.Div. degree at Asian Theological Seminary. They returned to Singapore where he was ordained as a Methodist minister and served as a pastor for five years before leaving for Edinburgh University, where he proceeded with doctoral studies. While there, Mrs Solomon did theological studies with London Bible College.

After their return, Dr Solomon served as a lecturer in Trinity Theological College, where he served variously as Lecturer in Pastoral Theology, Dean of Students and Principal. After election to episcopal office, Dr Solomon served in that position before retiring in 2012. Since then, he has been actively serving in an itinerant ministry of preaching and teaching. He has also written many books. He speaks widely in Singapore and the region. He has also been closely involved in missions, especially in Southeast Asia, and has spoken at various conferences in Singapore and overseas.

He has also led a men’s reading group for 30 years and conducted an annual retreat for them for 15 years. He also speaks at other men’s groups. Mrs Solomon has been conducting Bible studies for various groups, especially for women. Bishop and Mrs Solomon have three adult children and four grandchildren.
